About Myself

A mother of two, I have been a stay at home mom for the past two and a half years and have loved every moment of it. Watching them grow and learn new things every day is an experience worth every second of my time spent with them, good and bad.

I had two easy pregnancies, and two fairly short labor and births. These were positive and empowering experiences for me, mostly due to those I had around me, and the support I received. I so often talk to women who haven't been so fortunate, and I want to do something to change that. Everyone should look back on their child's birth, regardless of whether it went how you planned or not, and remember what a miracle it was. I want to help you think of that time, and remember "I was pretty incredible, wasn't I?"

Why Hire a Doula?

If this is your first baby, then you and your partner have probably taken or are going to take a birth class of some kind. But even with all the important things they cover, there can still be a lot of questions that come up! Your Doctor or Midwife are extremely knowledgeable about the process your body is going through, however they can sometimes be short on the time needed to go into the kind of detail you may be wanting. Even before you give birth, a doula can help fill that gap and hopefully ease any nervousness you or your partner may be experiencing by going over the finer details you may not have had time to go into with your practitioner. A doula's role is to provide emotional support for you (and your partner!) during the entire labor and delivery. We can be a communicative voice between yourself and your caregiver if you or your partner are unable to for whatever reason (there IS a lot going on!). A doula is also well versed in various pain-control techniques, and is able to help you, or your partner try some of these methods during labor to ease the process. We are your emotional strength if you need it, and will stay with you from start to finish!
